My Job Responsibilities

I’m working as a Senior Sales Executive at Jewel Cafe Malaysia. My main responsibility includes providing excellent customer service to customers who want to sell precious metals or luxury items such as handbags and watches. I'm also a part of the assessment team, where I'm responsible for quoting prices for gold or branded items brought in by customers and assisting other colleagues in authenticating branded items before each purchase. Aside from that, I'm supporting the management team and other Senior Sales Executives to ensure that every transaction goes smoothly and helping other employees if they have any questions or issues during each appraisal. Besides, I'm also responsible for training new employees and guide them, especially when they attend customer. In addition, I will directly report any matters to the top management, and I will be responsible for completing the tasks assigned by the company. The other part of my daily routine also includes preparing daily reports, inventory management, cash flow management, and keeping the store clean and comfortable for customers.

My Happiest Work-Related Experience

My happiest moments are when I was able to develop a good relationship with a customer, and even better, when I've become friends with them. A few of my customers have already become friends with me on social media. I'm also pleased when I can help them when they have nowhere else to go if they need urgent money. Because Jewel Cafe is open from 10.00 A.M. to 10.00 P.M. Every day, customers who have an emergency, especially after 7.00 P.M. or on weekends when most of other shops are closed, they can always choose Jewel Cafe as one of their options for turning their valuables items into instant cash. I'm also delighted if customers loves our customer service and leave our store with a bright smile on their face. Many lessons were learned when I encountered various types of people. From there, I constantly remind myself to always be kind to others and to avoid having a negative attitude.

The Atmosphere At My Workplace

People claims that no workplace may be too good to be true are completely incorrect! Jewel Cafe is one of the most pleasurable places to work that I've ever experienced. I love this company because it requires me to maintain good relationships with my colleagues as a condition of employment. If you don't want to work in a toxic environment, you need to have a good teammate. Aside from that, the top management at Jewel Cafe is very kind and courteous. The environment is also comfortable and cozy not only for customer but for their employees as well. As a Muslim, I appreciate the company's willingness to allow us more time to pray. In terms of work, I think it is acceptable because I love working in this field. Every day, I may gain new knowledge and have the opportunity to touch and handling high-end and luxury goods. You would never be able to obtain this experience even with money.

Choose a career you enjoy, figure out what are you good at, then find someone to pay you for it. Don't wait on making a decision until everything is in place. There will never be a perfect solution. There will always be challenges, obstacles, and less than perfect conditions. You will become stronger, more skilled, more self-assured, and more successful with each step you take. Change something if you don't like it. If you can't change the situation, at least change your attitude. Attitude is a small thing that makes a significant effect.
